Somehow, this is a clash of extremes, a battle of two different concepts.
Something incomparable at first sight but nonetheless, a match of tradition.
Both contenders represent what German cars are known for: cutting-edge
technology to drive fast and save at the same time.
The 911 is deemed the Teutonic sports car itself, especially as there isn't all
too much from here that may said to be a real option. No alternatives, but serious
rivals come from those German brands chiefly associated with luxurious cars. BMW's M5
is the archetype of a 4-door sports sedan, and a supposed Porsche killer.
That things aren't that easy has already been proven by former comparisons. The
magazine Powercar recently checked the very recent generations of both icons. An
unfair match at first glance but worth a closer look at as well as a further issue of
our 'supplementary sheet': 'der Reflektor', after a long break.
