Volkswagen's new middle class sedan Passat is one of the most imp-
ortant cars for the company. The previous model was amongst the top sellers in Germany and the new one is anticipated to become equally popular. Difficult issue: it has to close the large gap between the Golf and the luxury car Phaeton. Being said a stuff car and family father's choice, the Passat has made its way.

But there's still a long distance to go to reach VW's aim of making it an E-class rival. At ads, Wolfsburg is emphasising comfort and luxury features. This shows the direction, from average to luxury. Nonethe-
less, also the new one doesn't excel in sportiness. That the opposite can also apply for it is now being proved by two German firms, KW Automotive and Abt Sportsline.

VW specialist Abt [ ] already reveals a front spoiler that is going to be gettable soon. A further item to make the Passat appearing like a 3-series competitor will be a wing for the trunk lid. Also in preparation, a suspension kit to lower the ride height and to add more visual sportiness. Abt's classic SP wheel will be obtainable for Wolfsburg's middle-class car too - which doesn't come as a surprise, admittedly.

KW Automotive [ ] comes up with another very traditional rim at the brand new Passat. The 'Cup Wheel' is a classic and truly no innovation. Not so the coilover suspen-
sions. Customers may select from 3 versions differing in its adjustability. Lowering range is from 35mm up to 65mm at all variants. Altogether both Passats surprise by how much zest the few measures add to VW's new midsize car.
