After, a CL-class with interior refinements by Etienne Aigner, the Mercedes tuning house
Carlsson now presents the edition's 4-door version, the 'Carlsson Aigner CK63 RS
Blanchimont' basing on the S-class.
This one also features a two tone finish that highlights the classic lines of the Mercedes
flagship. The full range of add-on parts make it very racy, almost too sporty for the
class paintwork. However, the shimmering multi-spoke wheels go pretty well with this approach.
By means of a 705hp V12-engine the 2.2t luxury salon is accelerated in just 3.9 seconds
to 100kph, as Carlsson claims.
Peak torque is, as usual with engines of this level, limited to 1,100Nm to protect the
gear box from bursting asunder. Nevertheless it manages a top speed of 320kph. The
price of the car is almost a Maybach's: 390,000€ excl. VAT. And in case there is some
money left, an office infotaiment system can optionally be ordered.
It as as much as 39,000€. Meaning, 429,000 for the overall package plus the VAT. However,
with this offering, customers not only invest on a high-end all-inclusive ultra luxury salon
but also on a nice collectible as the series is limited to just a few units. Seen in this
light, it's not made for driving but to be stored at a garage - which would be too bad!
