Besides the real versions of the recent C-class (internal code 204), sedan and
wagon, there's also a compact coupe, the CLC. It still bases on the previous
platform W203. Just as the current CLK-class which is underpinned by the same chassis.
With the succeeding car, the CLK series is going to get visually and technically closer to
the upcoming E-class. The upgrade makes way for a smaller open top model in
the range, as the strategists of Mercedes-Benz reportedly think.
Although the cheapest option would be deriving it from the two-door CLC,
Stuttgart have apparently decided to turn the more modern C-class into a two-door for that. The
picture above shows how it could look like. However, for this editing, the CLC was
used as a basis but refined by C-class elements.
