Brabus already introduces the wide body version of the Mercedes GLK - which
we announced in our first feature on the company's compact SUV - at the famous
SEMA show in Los Angeles. Nonetheless the conversion is likely to be
one of the attractions of the firm's stand in Essen.
The body kit makes the Mercedes GLK pretty brawny however, it perfectly matches
the design of the chiselled off road Benz. As typical of Brabus there is a
bunch of details, ranging from tiny badges to LED lamps for several purposes.
More obvious is an contrasting add-on air inlet for the front fenders.
The body can be lowered by 30mm while the outer ends of the axles get a high
performance brake system with larger disks and more pistons as well as 21 inch
wheels. The GLK exhibited in the USA also features an example of the skills of the
guys at Brabus' interior workshop. No doubt and no surprise: They have got the
most extensive programme for the GLK.
