Brabus have always been trying to be the ones who offer the
world's fastest 4-door car. But meanwhile the BMW specialists of
G-Power set an new official record with their M5. That's why
Brabus come with another headline and claim their latest power salon
is the 'Most Powerful and Fastest Luxury Sedan' in the world.
Titles aside, technical data of the Brabus SV12 R Biturbo 800 are
impressive. Maximum power is 800 bhp while the peak torque of 1,420 Nm
at low 2100 rpm underlines that Brabus have pull all the stops out.
Traditionally the Mercedes tuners apply any measures possible - ranging
from ECU re-programming to displacement increase - to their top engine.
So its capacity is now 6.3 litres, instead of 5.5. Two turbos squeeze
air in the combustion chambers which also help to accelerate the S-class
in under 4 seconds to 100 kph. Double speed is achieved after 10.3 seconds,
from a standstill! Acceleration ends at 350 kph. Not because the power plant
lacks the muscles for more. Engineers set this limit to protect driver,
tires and mechanism.
Of course, they have also a braking system to match the performance. And
besides wheels, and body parts, interior improvements in the form of refined
leather upholstery multimedia and office equipment is provided. Those who attach
importance to being the fastest, however, should wait. With the new Mercedes CLS,
Brabus are going to bring out a car faster than this one, and surely even faster
than record holder G-Power's M5.
