present their new Golf GTD. Because the exterior of the basis is identical to the GTI's - apart from very few exceptions such as the colour of the strips at the front grille and the badges - Abt's GTD conversion features those parts known from the patrol-driven GTI model.

The same goes for the endings of the exhaust system and the wheels which can be ordered in 18 and 19 Inch. A set of lowering springs reduces ride height by around 40mm. The 140-HP-standard engine is tweaked to 190 HP by the engineers of the long-established Volkswagen tuning house.

Thanks to the 50 extra ponies, the Golf GTD by Abt Sportsline sprints in 7.1 seconds to 100 kph and reaches 230 kph as top speed. That's truly not bad for a compact racing tractor!
