Though the IAA in Frankfurt will outshine the AMI Leipzig in this year, innumerable vehicles
are shown for the first time in Germany. And, despite the Frankfurt Motor Show, a few cars
celebrate their world debut here such as Volkswagen's Transporter T5 as well as two,
admittedly very differing, possibilities to drive a Mercedes E-class T-model.
The first one is made by Lorinser, a company that is not only true to the Leipzig
Motor Show since many years, but also a firm that specialises in refining Mercedes
Benz cars on a sophisticated but less diffident way. Another one is shown by Mercedes
Benz itself and bears a Taxi sign on its roof.
Presumably more interesting to visitors may be the Deutschlandpremieren [ Germany
premieres ] of other cars such as the Alfa Romeo GT Coupe and the facelifted Spider,
the Jaguar XJ, Saab 9-3 Convertible, Volkswagen's compact van Touran and the New
Beetle Cabrio, the Italian lifestyle city runabout Lancia Ypsilon and, last but not
least the vehicles of the local hero Porsche that presents the new Carrera GT and
the new GT3.
