STILL WORTH ITS PROMISING NAME? --- LAMBORGHINI MURCIELAGO V FERRARI 575 MARANELLO --- LAMBORGHINI GALLARDO V FERRARI 360 STRADALE/GOOD ENOUGH TO BEAT MERCEDES? - BENTLEY CONTINENTAL GT V MERCEDES CL600/ --- /CAN IT DEFEAT THE ESTABLISHMENT? - BMW M3 CSL V PORSCHE GT3 V FERRARI 360 STRADALE/

The voting at our preview page lets assume that many of our visitors want our press review section to exist in future. Indeed, the automotive world remains exciting. BMW does not content itself with attacking only the Porsche 911. Munich recently had launched the M3 CSL to rival more uncompromising Nine Eleven versions, such as the radical GT3. Meanwhile the rest of the Germans are concentrated on managing their latest acquisitions on the luxury car sector. In contrast to Bugatti, most makes of them have fix core values that have been defining their corporate images for decades. But the Teutonic ambitions are expected to dilute much of those identification features beyond recognition - or just in accordance to modern times? However, our press review series on prestigious state-of-the-art 2 door cars points out the status quo on this field in terms of character and performance.

First we deal with the influence of Audi at Lamborghini. Are the Italian sports cars still as rough and loud as they have been once? Lambo seems to have turned its core values significantly closer to that of their neighbours at Maranello. After all the baby Lambo is said to be the softest car from Santa' Agata ever and, all tests of it so far confirm that the little bull doesn't need to be tamed anymore. It's now said to be as meek as a lamb - not as a Lamb-o? Is it really as soft as the Ferraris, or perhaps even softer? These are the questions we want to get answered. To find it out we have been evaluating comparisons with the respective offers of Ferrari as a benchmark. Says, here comes the who-is-where report about those two Italian sports car makers and their cars, in short: horse v bull. click..!

The next issue clears up who's on top in the field of heavy luxury coupes. The V12-powered and bi-turbo charged models CL 600 and GT Continental of Mercedes and Bentley respectively meet each other for showdown. Last but not least we take a look on the opposite category of high-performance vehicles, on the lightweight models of: BMW - named M3 CSL, Porsche 911 - specified as GT 3, and Ferrari, that sent the Stradale version of the 360 Modena from Italy to 'mop up' the contenders properly. But before we say how the Italian road racer grapples with the Teutonic street fighters, it has to come to the aid of its big brother 575 Maranello in the battle of the Southern European 'scuderias', meeting the brand new Gallardo there.
